User Guide - Mouse Usage

Computer-Aided Design Software

 G-System User Guide

2.  Mouse Usage

General

The system requires a two-button mouse. The left-button is used to select an existing element or to indicate a location.  The right-button is for viewing. Since the right-button is reserved for view-specific operations throughout the session, three basic viewing operations are always available. The right-button is also used for the definition of zoom box and group box (described later).

Panning:
by dragging the right-button

Zooming:
by holding the right-button, and then click the left-button once, and then dragging the mouse (left or right) while continually holding the right-button.

View rotation:
by first holding the right-button, and then holding the left-button also while dragging the mouse to rotate the view.

Description

A simple rule to remember:

The RIGHT button is for viewing; the LEFT button is for selecting geometry.
